Isak Wessman wrote:Ministry is the V5 name for the Followers of Set.
In lore, the clan went through a consolidation and rebranding when they joined the Anarch movement.
Zum anderen:

Are the vampires from 5th edition canonical, do they have actual background, or are from Vtes alternative timeline like a lot of current vampires?
Vampire: The Eternal Struggle wrote:Sorry, I will not answer the questions about disciplines until it has been playtested and approved by Paradox. Vampire are "canonical" World of Darkness characters when they are published.

Aus dem VEKN-Newsletter August 2020:

http://www.vekn.net/2-uncategorised/486 ... ugust-2020
The first round of playtesting of the next four preconstructed decks is ongoing. The Banu Haqim deck will be Camarilla, while the Brujah, Gangrel and Ministry decks will be Anarchs. The first reports from testers are rather positive, even though there are many strong opinions about some individual cards. This first round ends in mid September, after which reports will be collected, the decks revised and a new round of testing will start.

Aus dem Vampire: Elder Kindred Network Newsletter September 2020
http://www.vekn.net/2-uncategorised/487 ... ember-2020
The very meaty round 1 report from playtest coordinator Darby Keeney just landed in Black Chantry mailboxes. The four preconstructed decks (Banu Haqim, Brujah, Gangrel and Ministry) received mixed reviews, and the design team led by Ben Peal will now adapt them and prepare for round two of playtesting.

Eine Frage, dann wilde Gerüchte und Mutmassungen (die ich hier weglasse), dann Ben Peal, am 19.10.2020 in der Facebook-Gruppe "Vampire: Elder Kindred Network":
François Deslauriers" wrote:Will the Assamite and Followers of Set change name, logo and default sect when the new preconstructed decks will go out?
Ben Peal wrote:Some comments/responses on this question:
- I don't want to commit to answers on it until after we get approval from White Wolf/Paradox on how we're handling the material. Sometimes these things are subject to change and I don't want to tell you something now only to have it change a few months later. Sometimes changes are made due to playtest feedback, sometimes they're due to the desires of the property's rights holders.
- We won't be banning any clans or sects.
- The "default sect" rule will be gone as of the V5 rulebook. We're sick of updating the list of default sects for the clans and eliminating that rule makes the game more adaptable to sect changes in the V:tM canon. (I'm looking at you, Gangrel.)
- As others have pointed out, the Followers of Set and the Ministry are the same clan, and the Banu Haqim and the Assamites are the same clan.

Weitere Antworten von Ben Peal im gleichen Facebook-Thread:
Chris Franklin wrote: As we've seen with other sets when changes are made to clans due to in game canon for example the Gangrel going Independent during revised we still saw Camarilla Gangrel get printed. Can we expect the same for Clans like the FoS, Assamites, and Lasombra? I understand if you cannot speak on it yet. Just a personal opinion that more options are better for the game instead of restricting them unless your hands are truly tied. Also please dont kill the Ravnos. Thank you.
Ben Peal wrote:Hey, Chris:
Overall, I'd say that V:TES has been a series of "snapshots" of the current state of V:tM. As the RPG has changed, the card game has changed along with it and done its best to reflect that as best it can. It certainly hasn't been a perfect process over the years - including stuff I've done - but that's the general idea. As you point out, even though the Gangrel left the Camarilla and became Independent, there were still Camarilla Gangrel, such as Mark Decker. Even though the Assasmites were officially Independent, there were still Sabbat Assamites. Things like this were included in V:TES and will continue to be included in V:TES as further developments in the canon happen. The default sect rule wasn't working well enough to accomodate this, so we're getting rid of it.

In 5th Edition V:TM, the Brujah and Gangrel have officially left the Camarilla and joined the ranks of the Anarchs. But there are still Camarilla Brujah and Camarilla Gangrel. For example, Donal O'Connor is still Prince of Dublin. The aforementioned Mark Decker is still Prince of Milwaukee and there's a Gangrel Archon named Tyrus. We're certainly going to leave our options open for developing these things for V:TES. I mean, why wouldn't we? 🙂

As for the Lasombra, my take on them is that they're a clan in transition, making decisions out of the necessity of survival. The Sabbat still exists and loyalties can be fickle. So yes, the Lasombra are in a state of imminently-going-to-be-officially Camarilla in the RPG, but I don't for a moment think that's all that's in store for them. We'll likewise keep our options open.

Regarding other stuff everyone keeps asking about - Ravnos, Bloodlines, Laibon, etc. - your magic 8-ball is as good as mine. 🙂

With all that in mind, there's what works best for V:TES and there's what works best for the overall RPG and property. What we end up developing is ultimately about reconciling those two with each other as best we can.

John David Balingit wrote: Would it be reasonable to predict that the default sect rule being gone means that Antitribu "clans" will be receiving no further support?
Ben Peal wrote: I don't make predictions. I make cards. 🙂

Honestly, I know very little about the development of the Sabbat for V5. Certainly not even close enough to make a definitive statement about it for V:TES or even a prediction.

What I can say is that prior to V5 even existing, we'd done some feasibility studies with respect to moving away from separate clans for the antitribu and simply having Sabbat Ventrue, Sabbat Toreador, etc. This was done solely for the sake of "what is right for V:TES?" and not part of any directive from the property owners. The general feeling was that having the antitribu as separate plans probably shouldn't have been done in the first place, but we're also not thrilled about the idea of ending that structure after 25 years.

Troy Espiritu wrote: do we foresee any broken situations if or when "antitribu" cards just mean sabbat? and errata-ing all antitribu requirements, to just sabbat required? (or cam for lasombra?)
Ben Peal wrote: Do we errata the existing cards? Do we make new cards that replicate the old cards? Do we make cards for, say, Ventrue that are Sabbat only or Camarilla only? Do we expand the group populations to accomodate sufficient numbers of Camarilla and Sabbat vampires for each clan? What do we do with the City Gangrel? Are there even going to be City Gangrel?

I don't know. It's not as if we're going to run through a checklist of questions like these and then based on their answers reach into our file cabinet and pull out the folder labeled "OPERATION: VAULDERIE".

We're going to see how the Sabbat are developed for V5 and then figure out how best to incorporate it into V:TES. That's all. Until then, I don't know.
